Hi Guys! Hope you all are having a great time. I am so excited to be reviewing my new sewing machine. It is the SINGER Heavy Duty 4423. This is my new baby.
I got this sewing machine from amazon, through http://buyandship.ng; a company that helps you buy things on foreign shopping sites and ships it down to you at the rate of ₦335/dollar.
So back to my sewing machine. What I love about this machine is the fact that it’s heavy duty( according to its name). It can sew over heavy weight fabrics without skipping a stitch. I once saw a review on YouTube, with the machine sewing over eight layers of Jean. That’s a lot of strength for an entry level sewing machine. It also sews at 1,100 stitches per minute which is faster than a regular domestic machine which sews at about 300-400 stitches per minute.
It has 23 inbuilt stitches, which includes; basic, stretch and decorative stitches. It comes with a few accessories like; A zipper foot, button hole foot, button sewing foot, 4 bobbins, 2 spool caps, a cleaning brush/ Seam ripper, an extra Spool and a mini screw driver. It also has an automatic needle threader.
There are dials for adjusting the needle position, stitch width, stitch length, upper thread tension and also a stitch selection dial.
I’ve had this machine for just a few days now, and using it has been really great. The stitches are beautiful and neat, I don’t always have to adjust the tension when I switch fabrics, and it sews pretty fast. The only issue I have with the machine is that the automatic needle threader didn’t operate as smoothly as I expected. It keeps hanging on to the thread and I have to manually set the thread free. Aside that I haven’t observed any other issue with this sewing machine.
I’ll probably post up another review on it, after I’ve used it to sew more projects to see how the sewing machine holds up.
See you in the next post!
